It is an honor to be chosen by you to be the President of SWOBOA for 2010.  For the past 6 years of serving this board I have seen the changes that have transformed not only in the industry but also the way jurisdictions conduct their code enforcement business. 

It is also the hard work of those who decide to volunteer, with the support of their supervisors and jurisdictions, in this ever-growing organization.  Because of these volunteers more committees have accomplished their objectives than before.   This year we are looking forward to sharing our education, scholarship, standardization, and community outreach programs with other jurisdictions.

Understanding that we are not enjoying the construction booms of the past and that we are crossing challenging times, my difficulty would be for jurisdictions to continue supporting their personnel in devoting his/her time to their organizations and to achieve what other organizations have not, due to lack of interest. The support from the jurisdictions will not only benefit their communities but also will impact the industry throughout the State. The more interaction contractors have with a code official, the more efficient and profitable their businesses will be and they will rest assure that the same rules will apply in every jurisdiction they conduct business.

I will try to do my best to impel this organization forward with the help of the best team of Directors. Thanks to the directors and the members of SWOBOA for making this organization what it is today.
